Yes, I blame Japan– world of merchandizing– for my interest in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Thanks to a partnership with Coca-Cola (JP), I am now trying to collect 32 chips with the flags of the countries participating in the WC. Naturally, they come with a beaded keychain so fans alike can tag them to anything they feel like.

Thankfully, the diet sports drink I love, Active Diet by Aquarius, comes with these chips (so I don’t have to buy sodas).

I think I might need to keep a list in my wallet so I can stalk the convenience stores accordingly. I play lots of tennis and exercise regularly. What better way to justify this new obsession of mine? Also through registering at the chip site, one can vote on matches after obtaining points via entering the serial numbers on the back of their chips.

My three match picks:

As you can see, I know squat about football, and am purely making my picks based on discussions with friends and which teams I like. Japan’s exported many of their star players to other clubs, so I forsee them not fairing so well. I must get more chips so I can vote on the site. I guess I should also read up on the WC since I will be teaching my sports classes about it in English.

I haven’t updated in over two months. Lord help me, I am hopelessly hopeless. I am going home in two months for a short stint in the Sunshine State before starting up a new career path as an elementary school teacher. It still baffles my mind that I got the job with such ease (and no interview test). I am slowly preparing for a new lifestyle, but part of me is refusing to consider the fact that I have to leave certain things behind.

I will be Stateside August 10 to August 16 (the 9th, 17-18th will be traveling days). I am wondering if I could possibly bribe my favorite vegan programmer to help me set up my homepage like B.net. I don’t know if it would be possible with my little rinkydink paid website, but I can always hope, right?

I started up an old school hand written diary. It’s a very tactile experience for me. I have becomed to accustomed to using a PC, that I forgot the pleasure of just scrawling out all my ideas in a stream of consciousness manner on paper with ink.
