Kaleido’s Scope

Just another piece of me.

Sunday mornings. I always liked Sunday mornings after coming to Japan. Sundays truly became a day of rest. I could laze in bed as long as I chose to. I could stay in my pajamas all day if I felt inclined. I can made my Sundays as busy or as empty as I like, which is refreshing. It’s been a while since I’ve had a day set at my own pace.

Last night, I decided that I wanted to have company at my apartment sometime during this week jampacked with holidays. However, my room is currently in critical condition. (>.<)* I am doing my best to clean it. The cruxt of the mess is laundry that needs to be done and organized better. I’ve decided that I have far too many clothes and that its time to part with some pieces. I’m still loosing weight, and it’s a good thing because it’s forcing me to relinquish hold on clothes that I’ve been reluctant to send to the heap. Socks that I have worn holes into the toes, and stained the white bottoms (and can’t get them clean no matter how hard I try) were the first to go. If I can’t find a match once all my laundry is compelte, those are going into bin as well.

The hardest thing was putting the pairs of Victoria’s Secret undies into the trash. I adore the feel, fit, and quality of VS underwear. It was a difficult decision but once the elastic is shot, the hems are coming undone, and there are precarious holes in them, they are no longer sexy, and more importantly, they are no longer functional. People forget that I am very much a Virgo. I prefer function to fashion. Is that a bad thing? I shouldn’t complain too much because now I have a reason to buy new underwear.

Now that I have a car again, I can revisit one of my favorite Sunday morning habits. Just driving.

Today, I was flicking through the channels on TV, when I watched an ABC News casts subtitled in Japanese. Florida has apparently passed a law permitting the use of "deadly force" if a person feels they are in threatening situation. Run a search on google (I recommend checking CNN.com, the New York & LA Times online, too), and read up on it. I worry about the safety of my family & friends in Florida. One of my biggest concerns though, are the schools. Will school police officers fire back if a student pulls out a gun at school? How will people be persecuted? Somebody give me hope that schools all over Florida will not become killing grounds.

What does one do when the new fiancee of one’s ex-husband contacts you asking about the events leading to one’s divorce? Should I write a novel about this latest, bizarre occurance in my life?
